The GESERCO FlashTest™ apparatus is a manual Cleveland type open cup flash point tester.
Designed for fast, simple and cost-effective determination of flash points in all petroleum products (above 79°C and below 400°C) except fuel oils.
The flash point determination conforms to the ASTM D92, IP 36 and ISO2952 standards.
The apparatus also allows for determining the fire point.
The test is simple and rapid, and the apparatus is delivered with detailed instructions.
Measuring principle
The test cup is filled up with a defined volume of sample to be tested.
The temperature of the test sample is first rapidly increased, then slowly and at constant rate as the flash point is neared.
At specific temperature intervals a small test flame is passed across the cup.
The lowest temperature at which application of the test flame ignites the vapours above the surface of the liquid is taken as the flash point.
